The homeowner contacted SkySpec after a previous DIY repair to two skylights began failing and was visually deteriorated. They wanted new flat‑glass skylights with a more modern appearance and improved daylighting.
The Project Challenge
Two existing skylights had been subject to a do‑it‑yourself fix by prior owners that was no longer holding up. The homeowner asked for a replacement solution that would provide a clean, contemporary look and bring more natural light into the space.
Our Solution
We removed the existing units and performed a curb‑mount replacement with two VELUX custom skylights, specified as VELUX custom FCM flat‑glass models. The installation included labor and materials required to replace both skylights and to integrate the new units with the existing roof curbs.
The Finished Project
The new VELUX flat‑glass skylights provide a modern appearance and allow substantially more daylight into the interior. The products installed also include a ten‑year glass breakage from hail warranty for the new owner. Photographs from the project document the replaced units and the updated look.
