Two Aging Skylights Replaced With New VELUX Skylights and Solar Blinds

Skylight Specialists, Inc. replaced two existing deck-mounted skylights at a Denver home with new VELUX FS M04 units, updated flashing and solar-powered blinds. The project renewed the skylights and their roof integration while giving the homeowner better control of the bedroom daylight.

The Project Story

Replacing Older Skylights and Updating the Roof Integration

The home had two existing skylights scheduled for replacement, including an approximately 30-year-old unit that was ready to be updated. The homeowner also wanted current warranty protection and better control of the bedroom daylight.

We replaced the existing deck-mounted skylights with VELUX FS M04 fixed units and incorporated new flashing as part of the completed replacement.

How We Handled It

Replaced and Reflashed

Removed the existing deck-mounted skylights.

Prepared the roof openings for the replacement units.

Installed two new VELUX FS M04 skylights with EDL flashing.

Added solar-powered blinds for interior light control.
